DCI: ESS3.A (A) Natural Resources – Living things need water, air,
and resources from the land, and they live in places that have the things they
need.
PE: K-ESS3-1 Use a model to
represent the relationship between the needs of different plants or animals
(including humans) and the places they live.No Clarification Statements
The basic content is as follows.
- Plants need water, air and "resources from the land" (It seems as if sunlight is not being included, or are we meant to understand that sunlight is a resources plants get "from the land"?)
- Animals need water, air and "resources from the land"
- Plants get what they need from the place where they live.
- Animals get what they need from the place where they live.
- Beyond this, we want kids to have a "model" of animals living where they get what they need. I have to figure that we are talking about a conceptual model here.
